Adults - Student Profiles
This course is providing me with exactly the right skills that I need to get onto a pharmacy course. I have received the best quality teaching I have ever had and I think every student who comes here would agree. I have been prepared well for where I want to go next and I would recommend that anyone who wants a thorough understanding of Chemistry comes to this College.

I was working as a kitchen hand when I realised that if I wanted to get anywhere, I would have to go to College and get some qualifications behind me. I found the course on the internet – it is exactly what I expected and I have been offered a place at City University to study Computer Science and Games Technology which I’m really excited about.

Access to Higher Education Diploma: Computing
I was working as an administrator at a university and myself and a friend started the course as something of a hobby, as we are both interested in computing. Eventually I’d like to pursue IT as a career and perhaps go to university. The teachers here at the College are very encouraging, supportive and help you to reach your goals in a flexible way.

e-Quals Diploma (IT Users)
I’m originally from Sri Lanka and have come over to the UK to join my family. The ESOL course is great as we learn everything we need to progress, for example, grammar, speaking, listening and IT. I want to go on to do a business course and then eventually run my own restaurant. The teaching is great and the people at the College are really open.

I was a secretary for 18 years and decided to change my career. I found out about the course on the internet and the standard of teaching has been excellent. The best thing about coming back to college has been learning something completely new – we have to do our own research on injuries and then learn how to re-create them. This has been the best thing I’ve ever done and I really want to progress into special effects and film – hopefully something like Casualty – the more blood the better!

Cosmetic Make-up Certificate (VTCT)
I was working as a part-time restaurant manager and came to College to improve my skills. It’s been really useful to learn customer care techniques and I have learnt relevant subjects that I can take back to the workplace. The facilities here are excellent and I’m looking forward to starting my own restaurant business.

I’m a tour operator and we travel around taking tourists to visit places all over the UK and Ireland. I think it’s good to learn as many languages as possible and my GCSE Spanish will really help me at work. The classes at College are taught in a mix of English and Spanish, and we learn grammar, conversation, listening and speaking. My teacher has been really helpful, she knows a lot of us work so she makes herself available via email or phone if we ever need help outside of class hours.

Before I came to College I had my own band, I played the guitar and lead vocals. I wanted to do the course to improve my composition skills, which I’m doing alongside learning about software and recording. I’ve really improved in confidence, the teaching has been very clear and the software we are learning about is industry standard. I now want to get into composing music for films.

I worked in finance before I decided to change direction and study sport. I’m glad I made the decision, I’m learning really interesting things like sports development, health, fitness and nutrition and have become more organised and disciplined. I’m hoping to go onto to get a job in health and nutrition or as a sports teacher.
