Teacher Training
General Teaching
We offer a range of courses to enable you to develop your career as a teacher in the Lifelong
Learning and Skills Sector. Our courses address the restructuring changes to Teacher Training
introduced by the Government from September 2007. The City & Guilds 7303 is an introductory
course suitable for people who are considering entering teaching or training. The full professional
qualification is achieved through the Certificate in Education (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) and Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (Diploma in Teaching in the
Lifelong Learning Sector). Both are validated by University of Westminster.
English Language Teaching
There is an increasing demand for English language teachers both in the UK and abroad as
more people need the language for work, travel and everyday life. Our courses are geared to
meet all these requirements. We have initial courses for teachers who want to enter the
profession (CELTA - this course incorporates the PTLLS Award) and more advanced courses for
people who are already English language teachers (DELTA). We also offer the Cambridge
Diploma in Teaching English (ESOL) in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTE(E)LLS) which qualifies
teachers to teach ESOL in the state sector in the UK.
