"I learned all the basic skills at college. So whether that’s putting up a tripod, sorting out the white balance on a camera, learning how to edit, transitions, shots or storyboarding, I learned all of that at college. Most of it I had never encountered or even thought about before. What I most liked about the College was the passion, the support and the equipment we got to use. We had Premier Pro, top of the range cameras and it was all pretty high tech."
"My form tutor was Gareth McLennan and he helped me out a lot. He was always on it, and he was just a cool guy. Everyone in our class loved Gareth. I think it was the way he set his classes out and the way he would come to me and say, if you need any extra time I’ll help you, that sort of thing. He showed me that he believed in what I was doing with SB.TV and got behind my work. All in his own time. I used to go to see him out of College hours, I’d ask him to help me out. That goes a long way and I won’t forget."
"To new students, I’d say follow your passion, and don’t be afraid to try things out. Try anything, don't be scared of failure, that is my advice. The only failure is not trying. And when you find your niche, what you are really good at, hit it so hard. I can’t stress that enough. It’s important to make the most out of what you’ve got. Make the most of the opportunities available. When you’re in college, don’t waste your time. Try to learn as much as possible and take advantage of the experience."
