Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.
Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.
If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.
International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

Our Level 2 Diploma in Sport programme is aimed at individuals who are preparing to embark on a career in the sport and leisure industry. It is a one-year course which is designed to prepare you for work in a multitude of sport and leisure facilities and to give you the knowledge and skills to progress onto higher level programmes. On this course you will study a broad range of topics including Anatomy, Technical & Tactical Skills, Practical Sport, Physical Preparation for Sport, Factors Affecting Participation.
This course will allow you to apply you studies focusing on your or for those with a general interest in sports, the opportunity to cover a number of different practical and individual sports. This qualification will form part of a study programme which will include exclusive access to our Sports Academy and Enrichment programme, Maths & English, Tutorial support, Work Experience, and development of employability and study skills. Maths and English is a fundamental element of this study programme and skills in these areas will be embedded into your vocational learning. In addition, if you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable.
4 GCSE's grade A*-D (including English and Maths at Grade D or Functional Skills L1 qualifications) or Level 1 Diploma in Sport with Functional Skills L1 in English and Maths. Applicants may be asked to sit a literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment and must achieve a minimum of L1 All applicants must successfully pass an academic interview.
You will be assessed via a range of methods including worksheets, written/oral questions, external tests, projects, reports, presentations and practical observations. You will build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
Upon successfully completing this course you will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 qualification in Sport or Public Services which will then allow for progression in Higher Education or an Apprenticeship in a range of areas within the field of Sport. This programme can also lead to Employment in a leisure centre/gym or in sports coaching.
You will be required to attend college for approximately 12 hours per week, which will include your subject related sessions along with tutorial, and English & Maths as required. In addition to this you will be expected to undertake independent study to complete tasks, coursework and assessments.
You will study via a range of methods including theory seminars, practical sessions, workshops, work placements, and laboratory experiments, in dedicated classrooms and high quality facilities which include a full sized Sports Hall, Exercise Studio and Sports Science Laboratory with state of the art equipment. Some lessons may also occur in the large on-site health and fitness club, which students also have access to free of charge, or at off-site facilities. You will also learn through a range of relevant trips, visits and guest lectures.
