Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.

Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should :- be aged 21 or over have at least two years (1,200 hours) of teaching experience of ELT to classes of adults, gained within the last five years have an initial teaching certificate (CELTA or Trinity Certificate in TESOL) have a degree or equivalent be proficient in written and spoken English

Assessment Method

The course is assessed by: A portfolio of written assignments [Module 2] Four observed lessons [3 course tutors, 1 by an external assessor] (Module 2) An extended assignment on a specialist area [Module 3] A final written exam [Module 1]

In addition, trainees must observe ten hours of lessons. There is also one unassessed observation at the beginning of the course. The dates are 12 September 2016 - 26 April 2017 - 24 weeks.

Progression Opportunities

In previous years, successful trainees have secured DoS positions in the UK and abroad, obtained places on MA courses or found employment in the Further Education Sector.
