Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2015 to July 2016) and are subject to change next year.

All our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 24 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out a 24+ loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

Entry Requirements

You will need to be working or volunteering as a teaching assistant in a school. Applicants will be required to attend an interview and complete a written English Skills Assessment Test at Level 3 and have already completed an NVQ Level 2.

You will have to produce proof of placement at enrolment.

Assessment Method

Part of the course will be assessed in the workplace. You will also need to produce a portfolio of evidence to show you have completed the performance criteria.

Progression Opportunities

you will be able to move to a higher level qualification and it may help towards promotion in your employment. You could continue your studies and progress to university if desired. You could work as a qualified classroom assistant, supporting the teacher and helping children in a primary school.

Study Methods

You will learn in dedicated classrooms, some will have access to computers for self-study, project work and class work. Other resources include access to learning materials in the Learning Centre.

Part time day: 3 hours per week and minimum 1 day working or volunteering in a primary school.
