Do you need support?
As a college we are committed to ensuring that all students are given every opportunity to succeed on their courses, but we know that some may need extra help and support due to specific needs. This may be because of a disability, learning difficulty or a medical or mental health condition. Some learners may need practical help, for example specialist equipment or access arrangements.
Types of support available:
■ Assessment of learning needs
■ Advice and guidance
■ Help with study skills
■ Specialist arrangements in exams or for assessed work and assignments
■ Specialist equipment and resources to help individual learners
■ Specialist tuition, either 1:1, workshops or in class
■ Specialist staffing such as signers, communicators and classroom support workers
■ Adapted materials in accessible formats
■ Guided tours of the campus when necessary to support a disability
■ Referrals to other services such as welfare, guidance or counselling if appropriate.
How do I let you know about my needs?
When you enrol let the staff member enrolling you know your needs or you can contact Additional Learning Support (ALS) at the help desk.
