Graduation Ceremony 2011

To confirm your attendance and purchase a ticket please register your details by Saturday 29 October 2010 at: www.graduationregistration.com/ehwlc

Date: Thursday 10th November 2011
Venue: Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9JT. Click here for map.
Time: You should arrive at 5pm and your guests should arrive for 6.30pm. The ceremony will begin at 7pm.

Please note: Graduates who have not purchased a ticket and reserved a gown by the deadline will not be able to participate in the ceremony. Please remember that you and your guests will not be seated together during the event. If you are bringing small children, please try to arrive early. This is so that your guests can reserve an aisle seat with easy access to the exit should they become restless.

• How do I book a place at the Graduation Ceremony?

• How do I book my Graduation photography?
  
  There will be a sales desk through which to purchase photography at the Graduation Ceremony. Options start with one 10” x 8” presentation photo (on-stage) for £10 and one 10” x 8” studio portrait photo for £15. Your photographs will be posted to you after the Ceremony, so there will be a £4.95 postage and package fee added to this amount.
• How do I book my gown?

  Parking
  There is paid a carpark in Nigel Playfair Avenue opposite the Town Hall. Parking restrictions on Nigel Playfair Avenue and the surrounding streets cease at 18:30 .
  

• What happens on the day?

  You should arrive by 5pm and your guests no later than 6.30pm. If you and your guests wish to be professionally photographed, we recommend that they arrive together at 5pm so that this can be done before the Ceremony begins. The Ceremony will commerce at 7pm and we estimate it will run until 9.30pm

• Can I attend the Graduation Ceremony if I have missed the booking deadline?
  The booking deadline is Saturday 29th October 2011. If you have missed the deadline it will not be possible to order your hat and gown in time for the event. Please contact us as soon as possible if this applies to you on 020 7565 1290 or marketing@wlc.ac.uk
• Disabled Access
  Hammersmith Town Hall has many stairs leading up to the main hall and there are also stairs onto the stage. It is therefore vital that we are aware of any students or guests with disabilities so that we can make the necessary arrangements to meet your needs.
• When will my tickets arrive?
  Your tickets should arrive by Friday 4th November 2011 at the latest. If you do not receive them by Monday 7th November 2011, please call 020 7565 1290 and we will make arrangements to leave your tickets on the welcome desk at the venue.
• What should I wear?
  As Graduation is a formal occasion, we recommend you dress in smart attire, preferably a shirt with buttons. The hood for your gown also needs to be attached to a top button or tie so a blouse/dress with buttons would be suitable for women and a shirt/tie for men. If this is not possible, we may be able to attach your hood using safety pins.
• Can I bring more than two guests?
  You are automatically entitled to bring two guests to the Graduation Ceremony. Your first guest ticket is free and additional guest tickets are £10 each (guests under 16 years of age are free of charge). Dependent on numbers, it may be possible for you to apply for additional guest tickets – please contact us.
• Are there any parking facilities?

• How long will the Ceremony last?
  The ceremony will commence at 7pm and we estimate it will run until 9.30pm.
• Will there be any refreshments?
  Refreshments will be provided and after the Ceremony. All meat served is Halal and vegetarian/vegan options are available. If you have any allergies or specific dietary needs, please contact us before the event.
• What is the £19.95 fee for?
  The fee is paid directly to the gowning company, Success Photography, to pay for the hire of your hat and gown. To book your gown please click here.
• Do I receive my award certificate on the day? What if I already have mine, should I bring it with me?

  As some examining bodies send out their award certificates directly to successful candidates, it would be unfair to hand out some certificates and not others. Award certificates are either posted to the candidate directly from the Examinations office at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College or from the examining body. The certificate that you receive on the night is to acknowledge your attendance and congratulate you on successfully completing your chosen programme of study. If you receive your official certificate in advance of the Ceremony, you will not need to bring it with you to Graduation.

• Can my guests take photographs during the Ceremony?
  We ask that guests remain seated during the Graduation Ceremony, so that they do not block the view of any other guests at the Ceremony. Professional photographs are available to purchase through Success Photography. Guests are free to take photographs before and afterwards.
  
  The College media team will be recording the Graduation Ceremony. DVD's can be pre ordered at the for £12.00,
• What if my plans change – can I cancel my booking?
  If you need to cancel your booking, you should contact us as soon as possible and we will try our best to help. Once your hat and gown have been ordered through Success Photography, it may not be possible to refund you for this cost. Also, once guest tickets have been posted out, it may not be possible to provide refunds for cancellations.
