Fee Information

Did you know?

Students aged between 16 and 18 who are British, a refugee , or an asylum seeker in receipt of Asylum Seeker Support (ASS), don’t pay anything for their course. Your tuition is free!

You will have to pay a £20 enrolment fee which is fully refundable on successful completion of the course.

A small fee may be payable towards any materials you need to complete your course.

What do I need to Pay?

The fee that you pay for your chosen course(s) depends on your personal circumstances and we have to assess a number of factors, such as your age, status and any benefits that you receive to reach a decision.

• The fees charged by the College are as follows:

  1.Enrolment fee – this is a one-off charge of £20, payable when you join the College. The enrolment fee is refunded to all students aged 16-19 on successful completion of their course.

  2. Course fee/s – unless stated, this fee includes all tuition costs. In some instances, registration and examination fees will be additional to the course fee.

  3. Registration/Examination fees – In order to enrol on certain courses at the College, you may be required to pay a fee for registration, examinations, certifications or accreditations with an awarding/professional body. If this applies to you, we will let you know at the earliest possible stage so that you can register directly with the relevant organisation.

  4. Extra costs – These may include equipment, field trips, books, special clothing or other similar items.

  5. Commercial Activity Programmes (CAP) – fees for these courses are the same for Home (EU) and International Learners.

• Higher Education students only:

  Higher Education courses offered by Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College include Foundation Degrees (FdA/FdSc) and Higher National Certificates (HNC)

   

  Higher Education Course Fees for 2010-11 are:

   

  Home students (full-time): £1,310
  Home students (part-time): £655 - £1066
  International students: £5,500

  It is possible for Home students to apply for maintenance and tuition fee loans through their Local Education Authority and the Student Loans Company who will supply the application form and assess eligibility. There are many available loans and grants you can access through your local council’s Education & Awards Department as well as a number of external bodies. For more information, please visit:

How should I pay?

Payment Methods

You can pay by cash, cheque or most major credit cards (except for American Express and Diners Club). Unfortunately we cannot accept foreign currencies (including the Euro) and we can only take cheques from banks with branches in the United Kingdom.

• Paying Fees by Instalment

  The College prefers for all fees to be paid in full before the start of the course, however, if your fees are £300 or over, it may be possible to divide the amount into instalments of two or three payments (Home students only).

  Please speak to a member of College staff about dividing your fees into instalments as we will need to draw up an agreement for you to sign.

  For courses starting in September 2010 and finishing in June 2011

  If your fees are £300 - £500, you can divide them into two payments as follows:
  • 50% payable at enrolment and before your course is due to start
  • 50% by no later than 30th November 2010

  If your fees are over £500, you can divide them into three payments as follows:
  • 33% payable at enrolment and before your course is due to start
  • 33% by no later than 30th November 2010
  • 34% by no later than 28th February 2011

  For courses lasting for one term or over, but not a full year
  If your fees are £300 or over, you can divide them into two payments as follows:
  • 50% payable at enrolment and before your class is due to start
  • 50% no later than six weeks after the course start date

  Fees under £300 cannot be divided and must be paid in full before the start of the course.
  We unfortunately cannot offer these payment options to International students.

Do I pay the Home or International fee?

• You are a Home student if you:

  1. have lived in the UK, without any restrictions on your right of stay, for at least three years before the start of the course.

  2. are a European Union national (passport holder) with three years ordinary residence in the area of the European Union.

  3. have indefinite or exceptional leave to remain or enter the United Kingdom or have been granted humanitarian protection or discretionary leave in the UK.

  Please note: the examples listed above are the main ways of obtaining Home status and, in some instances, may also apply to your spouse, civil partner or child. Don’t worry if you do not meet any of the above requirements, it does not mean that you will automatically be classed as an International student.

  Please contact the College to discuss your individual circumstances with an experienced member of staff.

• You are an International student if you:

  1. do not meet the criteria defining a Home student.

  2. are a European Union national but do not have three years ordinary residence in the area of the European Union.

  3. are in possession of a student visa (irrespective of your length of residence in the UK).

  Please note: the examples listed above are the main ways of obtaining International status. Apart from student visas, the Home Office and Immigration & Nationality Department issue other types of visas which may make you eligible for International status. In some instances, it may be possible to qualify as a Home student even if you meet some of the above requirements. Please contact the College to discuss your individual circumstances with an experienced member of staff.
