Hospitality & Catering students at Hammersmith & Fulham College landed a contract to deliver the catering and hospitality at Hammersmith & Fulham Council's annual meeting and Mayor's second swearing in ceremony at Hammersmith Town Hall on Wednesday 18 May.

The Mayor of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Councillor Mercy Umeh, requested Hammersmith & Fulham College students personally as she recalled the amazing service and food they provided at the same event last year.

A spokesperson for the Mayor's Office said: "The catering last year was excellent and everyone remarked on the high standard of the food served and the skills of Hammersmith & Fulham students."

The event ran from 7pm until 10pm with over 100 attendees including Councillors and the Mayor. The menu was made up of ten different canapes and assorted desserts including: smoked salmon blinis, Jerk chicken drumettes, beef & cheese sliders, scotch egg with piccalilli, mango cheesecake, Swiss roll slices and more.

Denise Charles, Curriculum Manager for Catering at Hammersmith & Fulham College had this to say about the students' performance: "Our students are so calm under pressure and are very enthusiastic. They absolutely love working at events like these and feel that they are gaining valuable work experience."
