West London College already offers a wide range of construction and engineering courses and apprenticeships to give students the skills for a great career, with links to employers and work experience providers. Developing our rail course offering will perfectly offset our current expertise in the aeronautical, automotive, aviation, mechanical and construction sectors.

Membership to the National Network of Colleges is the latest in our efforts to provide the locality with the skilled workforce of tomorrow, which will now sit alongside our work with West London Orbital, West London Business and West London Alliance.

We will now have the chance to work with fellow further education colleges within the partnership who have extensive experience working collaboratively with employers for quality delivery, as well as a great understanding of the UK rail industry and its needs.

Lloyd Davis, Head of Construction & STEM at West London College, said: “Today was another positive step for our engineering provision as we received recognition from the National Skills Academy for Rail. We are delighted to be working with an organisation which was established to enable the development of a highly skilled and productive workforce.”

Neil Robertson, NSAR Chief Executive, said: “This highly decorated college has time and time again demonstrated their ability to provide top-class training. In addition, the access they have to such a large network of employers will undoubtedly be of great benefit to those wishing to enter the rail industry.”

Garry Phillips, CEO of West London College, said: “We are delighted to be the newest member of the National Network of Colleges, part of the National Training Partnership, supporting the UK rail industry. West London College has a strong tradition of working with employers, including Heathrow, HS2 and Crossrail, ensuring our curriculum supports our ethos.”
