West London College is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Redhead to the role of CEO and Principal.
Karen is currently CEO and Principal of Derwentside College and sits as the North East Colleges’ representative on the board of the Local Enterprise Partnership. She is also Vice Chair of the North East LEP Employment and Skills Advisory Board, sits on the board of the Association of Colleges and is Chair of the Association’s national policy group for apprenticeships.
In her current role, Karen has shown great leadership in creating skills development programmes that are aligned to local priorities and are recognised as best practice. As well as leading a high-performing and sector-leading college, Karen has also had significant success in advancing the college’s apprenticeship agenda and is recognised as one of the sector’s leading experts on apprenticeships.

Karen takes over the leadership of West London College in the autumn term, following Garry Phillips’ move to City College Plymouth.
