West London College Celebrates Graduation Day

West London College celebrated its graduation ceremony on Thursday 31 January, honouring the achievements of higher education and professional courses students. The ceremony held at Ealing Town Hall was presided over by Paul James, Deputy Principal at West London College, who gave an inspirational keynote speech.

2019 Graduation

He said: “Education is best described as a journey with key milestones in it and how we pass through those milestones, and how we get to use what we learn, is almost as important as the actual knowledge itself. As well as the opportunities and progression routes these qualifications will open for our students, they will also serve to inspire the people around them; their friends, family and future colleagues. That is all part of the achievement they have made by graduating from West London College. Everyone at the college is incredibly proud of the hard work demonstrated by our graduates and the successes and impact they will have in the future.”

Ghizlane Boubriss is just one of the many students who graduated, having successfully completed an HND in Health & Social Care Management. Ghizlane will now be taking up a place at London South Bank University to Top Up the qualification to a BA Honours Degree whilst working at Bupa in the department of mental health, supporting doctors, nurses and psychologists. Ghizlane said: “My teachers were so empowering and really supportive, they got me thinking that everything is achievable. The whole experience helped to jump-start my career and I’m extremely happy with what I’ve achieved.”

Once again, Andy Gilman MBE presented the Ministry of Defence Award to an HND Business Management graduate. This annual award is given to those who demonstrate exceptional levels of commitment and tenacity to complete the course while meeting family and work commitments.

Tayyebah Hayat was this year’s recipient. She said: “I’m super excited to have received this award. It’s a great achievement but ultimately it comes down to the support of my family and tutors and all of the great opportunities we had at West London College that help you to make the most of your time on the course.”
