Interns from the COINS Marriott Supported Internship based in Slough celebrated their graduation at the Heathrow Windsor Marriott Hotel on 29 June. They had the privilege of working with two great global host businesses. They started the year with COINS Global Limited (Construction Industry Solutions) and, in January, joined the Heathrow Windsor Marriott Hotel at Langley.
The interns have acquired a range of IT and business administrative skills, managing business communications on social media, hospitality and estate maintenance skills. They have worked remotely with teams scattered across the world and learned great interpersonal skills.
Their teacher Rahma Maina said: “We are so proud of their resilience over the past year and their commitment to moving from education and into employment.”
Hira, one of the supported interns said: “The best thing about the supported internship is we meet new people, we do amazing things and we have an amazing team.”
Three of the ten interns have secured paid employment in the food and beverage industry. The remaining supported interns will have 9 months of further support from their job coaches and teacher as they continue their search for paid employment.
“We wish them all every success for the future,” Rahma added.
