Max completed his drylining apprenticeship in June 2022 at Southall Community College, which is one of the four colleges which make up West London College.

His teachers Leslie Lewis and Matt Morgan nominated him for the prestigious award, as they were hugely impressed by the standard of his work, professional attitude and willingness to help his classmates. Max works for TMP Interiors, which is based in High Wycombe.

Max explained how he feels about being nominated for the Construction Apprentice of the Year Level 2 award: “It feels very rewarding to be nominated for this award. It gives me the motivation to go on and achieve more and it is also very gratifying to know that my hard work and ability have been recognised and praised by my teachers.”

Drylining and Plastering teacher, Leslie Lewis said: “It has been clear to see the development of Max’s skills over the period of his apprenticeship. His confidence has blossomed as has his undoubted skill. His company has really assisted with this by allowing him to experience a wide variety of drylining tasks. Their support aligned with ours had been able to sustain and develop his potential and allow him to really learn. If only we had a few more like him. We all wish him the best for what should be a fruitful career.”

Fellow Drylining and Plastering teacher,  Matt Morgan said: “Max demonstrated complete commitment and dedication throughout his apprenticeship, with excellent attendance and a positive attitude towards all the tasks he undertook. A highly valued member of the class, Max was always willing to assist others in the program when help or guidance was needed. Max has been a pleasure to work with and I’m sure he will go on to have a very successful career in the future.”
