Last week, teachers Marius Smuts and David Kline took our Creative Media Production and Technology Level 3 students to the Sky Up Academy Studios for a workshop at Sky Studios in Isleworth. Sky organised a shuttle bus to take our students from and to the studios.
Our students really enjoyed the tour. They also had a talk and created a short trailer with the help of Sky Up Staff.
Marius Smuts, Creative Media Production Technology teacher, said: “Our students had an excellent time at Sky and I think the trip really opened their eyes in regards to job opportunities available in the Media Industry. They enjoyed the tour and workshop where they made a film trailer with the use of green screen. The big takeaway for them was that they can create a film in a shorter period of time if they work together.”
Erin Sheehy, Creative Media Production Technology Level 3 student, who has just completed the first year of her two-year course, said: “I enjoyed seeing the Sky Studio building and all the possible departments and career paths I could take on in later life. Creating my own film trailer with my group was an enjoyable experience as we had to work on a very short time limit.”
