Alfie joined West London College in 2016 to study Level 3 Sports Diploma, after successfully completing his course Alfie started a Business Administration Apprenticeship at College.
“I’ve always played sports and wanted to build a career in the sector but I didn’t want to take the academic route so I decided to do a BTEC because it offered me the chance to focus on the theory as well as the practical side of the subject.
“Studying at West London College has opened many pathways to me, I am more knowledgeable about sports and the different types of roles available in the industry. My tutor motivated me to work hard, he saw my potential and encouraged me to apply for the Business Administration Apprentice role.
“Doing an apprenticeship is a good opportunity to learn while getting work experience and to see the whole aspect of education. I felt part of the organisation and get to apply all the knowledge and skills I gained in my course. I’m really enjoying it, every day is different and offers new opportunities to improve and develop.
“I’m very happy with what I’ve achieved at College so far, I completed the Sports Extended Diploma with a Distinction and got to join the college’s Football Academy. I learnt to work as part of a team and individually and improved my organisation and time management skills so I can balance my apprenticeship, coursework and personal life better.”
Alfie is currently in the first year of the Business Administration Apprenticeship at the West London College’s Football Academy. In future, Alfie aims to pursue a career as a football coach.
