Jamie Clarke joined West London College in 2017, he is studying Plastering at West London Construction Academy and is doing an apprenticeship at Thomas & Wilson who specialise in fibrous plastering.
Jamie has recently won runner-up Apprentice of the Year at The Plaisterers’ Company Training Awards. In the future, Jamie aims to pursue a career as an ornamental plasterer in the film industry.
“I find that plastering is very detailed work - which caught my attention - as I am quite crafty with my hands. After visiting the College I really liked the course prospects and the facilities so I decided to enrol. From then on, I haven’t looked back.
“During my time at West London College, I’ve experienced the level of professionalism expected in the Plastering trade. This helped me prepare myself to meet the industry’s requirements and become confident in my ability to complete tasks to a high standard.
“Being a student at West London College has definitely helped me come out of my shell. I improved my interpersonal skills, my attention to detail and being dedicated helped me earn the trust of my teachers and employers.”
