Ylli moved to the UK from Albania in 2016, he started an ESOL course the Ealing Green College in the same year. He has steadily progressed to Level 3 Diploma in Public Services.
“I started my journey in college with an ESOL pre-entry course, with the support and motivation from my teachers I worked towards entry 3, after visiting Hammersmith & Fulham College during an open day I was impressed with the public services course and decided to go for it.
“I’ve always wanted to work in the public services sector, studying at West London College prepares me so I can reach my goal of becoming a police officer or army official. The college arranged one-week work experience with the British Army where I had the opportunity to experience the day-to-day working in the army, this motivated me to continue my course and keep working hard to reach my career goals.
“During my course, I built on my confidence, critical thinking and teamwork skills and got a clearer idea of what is like to work in public services and the career opportunities available in the sector.”
Ylli is currently on the first year of Level 3 Public Services Diploma, in future he aims to work in law enforcement and security services in the UK. He would like to motivate young people to follow their career goals and make a real difference in his local community.
