Advanced Aesthetic Treatments - Level 4

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This Level 4 Diploma is aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over. It is ideal for anyone seeking to add a broad spectrum of advanced aesthetic therapies to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment in a wide variety of work locations such as salons, spas, and clinics.

This qualification is shaped by input from employers and aligns with both national and international standards for aesthetic beauty, as developed by technical experts. It encompasses all the essential components needed to operate effectively as a fully commercial aesthetic practitioner.

Throughout this program, learners will enhance their knowledge and understanding of key principles and practices, along with advanced and safe skincare protocols tailored to various aesthetic treatments. Additionally, learners will acquire the expertise necessary to consult with clients, provide specific aftercare and home care guidance, and perform treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, and dermaplaning.

Dress Code:
- College Salon uniform or College branded Scrubs must be worn
- Footwear must be a full, black flat shoe (no open toe or open back)
- No long sleeves
- Hair must be tied up
- No jewellery

Salon uniform to wear whilst working in salon and an equipment kit to be able to carry out practical treatments. These must be purchased within the first 2 weeks of September or within 2 weeks of enrolling on the course. Uniform must be laundered, well maintained and worn in all practical lessons.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age Restriction: 18

As a prerequisite for this qualification, learners are required to hold a level 2 and 3 regulated beauty therapy qualification or equivalent (or medical qualification)

Two to four GCSEs grade 4 and above, including English and maths, or functional skills at Level 2 in English and Maths Interview with Lecturer and a trade test may be required.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

You will be continual assessed throughout the course. This includes:
- Written assignments
- Written/online tests
- Practical assessments undertaken on paying clients
- Creating an E-portfolio of evidence

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

Employment in beauty salons, a health spa, cruise liners, care homes, airlines and hotel chains.
Further Study for a specialist qualifications e.g.
- Level 4 in Salon Management,
- Level 5 Award in Radiofrequency Microneedling Treatments,
- Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments

STUDY METHODS

You will need to attend college 2 days a week with 3 hours Directed Self Study (DSS).
This course includes:
- Theory and salon sessions
- Presentations and Workshops by Industry Professionals
- Demonstrations Educational visits to trade shows, exhibitions and external clinics
- Promotional events including skills fairs, charity events, open days and evenings
- Work related experience
