Barbering - Level 2

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This course will give you the basic Barbering skills you need in cutting men’s hair and facial hair shaping. It is designed for those wishing to enter a career in barbering and for those who already have some hairdressing skills but do not have the qualification.

Units studied may include:

  • Follow health and safety practice in the salon
  • Client consultation for hair services
  • Cut facial hair
  • Cut men’s hair
  • Advise & Consult Clients
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need:

  • A GCSE grade 3 or Functional Skill Level 1 or above in English is desirable but not essential
  • You must have experience in cutting hair
  • A pleasant and friendly personality with good communication skills is essential.
ASSESSMENT METHOD


  • Continual assessment throughout the course

  • Written assignments

  • Written / online tests

  • Practical assessments undertaken on paying clients

  • Exams

STUDY METHODS

This course is based on a mixture of practical lessons in our industry standard salons with some elements of theory which takes place in our dedicated classrooms.
