Care Sector - Level 1

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This qualification is aimed at people considering a career in health and/or social care with adults or children and young people.

Some of the units studied are:

  • Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people)
  • Understand the principles and values in health and social care (adults and children and young people)
  • Awareness of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need: Functional skills Entry 3 or GCSE below a 3 grade.

This course includes mandatory work experience; our partner employers require you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19* in order to study this course. From April, we expect government legislation to mandate vaccination against COVID-19 for all NHS employees.

*Fully vaccinated means that two weeks have passed since your last recommended dose of a MHRA-recognised COVID-19 vaccine.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

A range of written assignments there is not a test connected to this course.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

Progression onto a level two Childcare or Heath and Social Care course.

STUDY METHODS

This is a full time course, you will be building a portfolio of assignments and attending work experience.

FEES

If you will be aged 16 to 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your studies and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course will be free.
