Introduction to Beauty

ABOUT THIS COURSE

The level 1 course in Beauty is a qualification designed to introduce you to a broad range of practical skills from across the beauty industry to prepare you for employment.

You will develop your practical skills through improving the appearance of hands, feet, facial skin and learn to apply basic make up.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements.

If you do not have any qualifications, you will be asked to take an English and maths test at interview.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

Assessment consists of: 

  • Continual assessment throughout the course
  • Written assignments
  • Written/online tests
  • Practical assessments undertaken on paying clients
  • E-portfolio of evidence
PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

Progression to level 2 beauty, employment, apprenticeship.

This course could lead to a career in the beauty industry in a spa in sporting environment, retail outlets, hotels, starting your own business.

STUDY METHODS

The course will be taught over 1 day. There will be a 1 hour theory lesson, a 3 hour practical lesson and 30 minutes to adhere to Health & Safety legislation (tidying up).

FEES

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your studies and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, you may be eligible for fee remission to cover your course fees, depending on your circumstances. For more information on fee remission, please click here.
