Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2019/20) and are subject to change next year.
For students under 19
Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.
For students aged 19 or over
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.
Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.
The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting is a potential stepping stone for students to take into employment, further education or training. It may be suited to students studying part time alongside employment or to those already working in finance. This qualification will also suit those looking to gain the skills required to move into a career in finance as it provides a clear pathway towards a successful career in accounting and finance. On completion, students can progress to take the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. It comprises six mandatory units:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting: Costing
- Indirect Tax
- Ethics for Accountants
- Spreadsheets for Accounting.
To start this programme, you will need to have completed any of the following qualifications: AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting AAT Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
Direct Registrations with Professional Awarding Bodies If students are required to register directly with professional awarding bodies, the registration is not paid at enrolment but is paid directly to the professional awarding body by the student. The courses that are subject to these conditions are mainly professional courses, such as AAT, IPD and CIM. There is no remittance of this registration fee.
All of the units within this qualification are mandatory. Four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments. This qualification also includes an assessment that students sit towards the end of the qualification, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.
Learners are entitled to 1 free re-sit for the whole level and will have to pay for all re-sits after that. Re-sits are £50 for each re-sit (this is to cover the AAT exam fee and our administration costs).
The accountancy skills developed through this qualification will enable a student to seek employment in the following areas:
- an accounts assistant;
- an accounts payable and expenses supervisor;
- an accounts payable clerk;
- an assistant accountant;
- an audit trainee;
- a corporate recovery analyst;
- a credit controller;
- a finance assistant.
Successful completion of this qualification can lead to study Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting or to higher education
You will learn in dedicated classrooms and computer rooms.
The Advanced Diploma starts in September and February each year (subject to demand). You have a choice of Daytime or Evening attendance.
