For students under 19
Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.
For students aged 19 or over
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.
Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.
This course is for you if you are planning a career in Business or computing.
As well as introducing the world of Business, this course will also develop the learning skills you need to be successful at level 2 and beyond. You will learn important skills such as being organised and working with others as well as how to use a variety of software packages and will study Functional Skills English and Mathematics. All students will have a personal progress tutor who will support them throughout the course.

- Researching a Topic,
- Finding out about businesses in your area,
- Creating a Visual Display,
- Branding a Product,
- Presenting a Business Idea,
- Recording Income and Expenditure,
- Communicating with Customers.
The study programme will include Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and study skills where you will complete modules such as Word and Excel to gain the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualification. You will also have the opportunity to take part in work experience for a week, which will enable you to develop your employability skills further.
Literacy at Entry 3 (requires a pass at speaking, listening, reading and writing) and Entry 3 numeracy.
The majority of the course is assessed through coursework, a mixture of in class assignment projects and presentations with only the Functional Skills Mathematics and English being assessed through a controlled exam.
Learners who completed this course went on to the Level 2 Diploma in Business. Progression to other subjects is also possible at this level. Each campus offers their own variety of subjects at Level 2.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms.
You will have up to 16 hours of timetabled classes each week including a group tutorial with your personal tutor, who will support and encourage you throughout the duration of the course. As part of the course employer visits and guest speakers will be arranged to enhance and contextualise your learning.
