Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.
Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.
If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

This Level 2 course will develop your knowledge and understanding of business in general. You will study 10 units in total which are all internally assessed. You will cover a wide range of units such as marketing, business purposes and organisations, financial forecasting, personal selling, online business etc. As this course is part of a study programme you will be given the opportunity to also work with businesses on projects and complete at least 5 days of work experience.
If you do not have a grade C in GCSE Maths and English, you will be assessed and will have to continue either on a GCSE course or a Functional Skills course at Level 1 or Level 2.
This course will help you develop a range of job-related and personal skills to pursue an entry job role within the business industry such as an Apprentice, Office Administrator/Assistant, Retail Assistant or an entry level IT Assistant.
You will need at least 2-4 GCSEs grade, A*-D (including Maths and English); or functional or key skills awards at Level 1; or Foundation Learning Level 1 Certificate; or BTEC Level 1 Diploma; or pre-access level 1 qualification; or NVQ 1 or equivalent.
Successful completion of internal assessment is also required. Students without Level 1 functional skills / key skills will be offered the opportunity to achieve prior to progressing onto a vocational Level 2 programme. By exception, students assessed at Entry Level 3 literacy may be accepted subject to the provision of additional support following interview and will be expected to achieve Level 2 in Maths and English by the end of the programme.
You will be assessed continuously throughout the course. There are 10 units. You will compile a portfolio of work which will be assessed by your teachers. You will be assessed via projects, presentations, case studies, interactive assessments, written assignments and in class assessments.
Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and you will receive an overall grade for the qualification.
From this qualification you could progress onto a Level 3 Extended business course, Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship or Team Leadership Course.
Alternatively you may wish to study another Level 2 vocational qualification in another subject area to complement this course.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms using IT based equipment. You will also gain exposure to business organisations through external visits, guest speakers and attending business exhibitions. You will also be offered the opportunity to take part in enrichment programmes.
The College offers tutorial and welfare services to provide support and guidance whenever it is needed. The Colleges Learning Resource Centre provides excellent facilities for private study and includes access to computers, an extensive library and quiet study areas.
Mode of attendance: three four days a week. You will also have to complete some independent work.
