Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2019/20) and are subject to change next year.

For students under 19

Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.

For students aged 19 or over

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.

International Students

Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.


About this course

This industry-recognised Diploma has been designed in partnership with the construction skills sector to enable you to obtain new or develop previously acquired skills in brickwork. This course is for candidates who work or want to work as a Bricklayer in the construction sector.

It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Bricklaying.

If you are 16 to 19 years old on a full-time course will be offered balanced, high quality study programmes to open up your options and give you the best chance of progression into further training opportunities or lasting employment. We will also endeavor create opportunities for students to take part in work experience.

A study programme is to consists of a substantial core programme of study (bricklaying), combined with maths, English and any additional learning or work experience.

Students who have not yet achieved GCSE Grade ‘C’ in English and maths at 16 will be required to continue to studying these subjects, by taking Functional Skills.

For the non-qualification hours, students are also required to undertake an employability programme and/or where appropriate work experience, which is relevant to their course of study.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have passed a Bricklaying Level 1 Diploma or be on a recognised apprenticeship programme.

Assessment Method

Your course will be assessed by observation of your practical work by a qualified Assessor/Trainer.

Progression Opportunities

Provided you fulfil all of the course requirements you may be able to progress to Bricklaying Level 3 Diploma and/or employment.

Study Methods

The practical sessions will be based inside a dedicated Bricklaying workshop and theory sessions will be based inside a classroom/workshop environment, with home studies.

This course is 16 hours per week.
