Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.

Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

About this course

This is the fastest way to becoming a fully qualified Plumber. This course is for candidates currently working in the plumbing industry who are covering new build and maintenance and do not have an NVQ but have completed a college based Level 2 diploma.

Candidates will be required to attend college for one day or two evenings per week to study for an online exam in Environmental Awareness. Once candidates have successfully completed the above online unit, they will be assigned an assessor. The assessor will support candidates to build their site based assessment portfolio and will assess them on site on 2-3 occasions.

Entry Requirements

Candidates who have successfully completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma 6035 and would now like to upgrade to the City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma, which qualifies them to become a fully qualified plumber.

Assessment Method
  1. Online test 003 Environmental Awareness. One hour duration.

  2. C&G 6189 performance units. Site based portfolio covering the entire range of plumbing maintenance and installation work and successful assessment on site (6189 Units 19/20).
Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will be able to work as a fully qualified plumber and apply for a blue tradesmen's CSCS Card allowing you to work onsite and comply with the CDM Regulations.
