For students under 19
Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.
For students aged 19 or over
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.
Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.
The London Construction sector is booming - Want to become a high level Plasterer?
This advanced plastering qualification is for individuals who work or want to work as a Site Plasterer in the construction sector. City & Guilds at this level is aimed at those who wish to learn advanced skills in site plastering. The qualification has been devised to provide learners with a fantastic understanding of all aspects of plastering; a very in depth course to have you industry ready and competent across a range of skills.
This training course enables you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Plastering.
The training and qualification covers running in-situ moulds, applying plastering materials to detailed interiors, applying plastering materials to detailed exteriors, producing reverse moulds for detailed fibrous plaster and cement casting and producing and fixing detailed fibrous plaster and cement casts.
You will learn a variety of Plastering skills. The full qualification consists of the following units:
- Health, safety and welfare in construction
- Running in-situ moulds
- Applying plastering materials to detailed interiors
- Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work
- Applying plastering materials to detailed exteriors
This is an Advanced / Level 3 where you will require an Intermediate / Level 2 in Plastering You must also have a real desire and enthusiasm to learn a trade within the construction industry. English & Maths GCSE would be an advantage.
You will need to meet the course criteria with both practical and basic knowledge requirements. There are continuous practical assessments and a number of unit assessments.
Successful completion of this course could lead to attending a Construction Supervisor course or a HND in Built Environment & Construction.
This is a practical based course with most of the time spent learning your skills within the workshop along with elements in the classroom.
