This course is for you if you are planning a career in IT, Art & Design or Media.

As well as introducing the employment areas of IT, Art & Media, this course will also develop the learning skills you need to be successful at level 1 and beyond.

You will learn important skills such as being organised and working with others as well as how to use a variety of software packages and will study Functional Skills English and Mathematics.

All students will have a personal tutor who will support them throughout the course.

The study programme will include Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and study skills.

You will also be required to take part in work experience for a week, which will enable you to develop your employability skills further.

On completion of the course, you will achieve the Pearson BTEC Entry Level 3 Certificate in Vocational Studies.

A BTEC L3 90 Credit/Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production is a practical, work-related course. The course introduces a range of creative media production skills, focusing primarily on moving image production. You will learn by completing projects that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. This course is designed to help you develop the skills you need to start a career in the media production industries. You will work with industry standard equipment and software, including high definition camera kits and a 4K TV Studio facility.

The full Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A levels, which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into higher education.

Your Study Programme will include the main course, a weekly tutorial, work experience placement/employability skills development and English and Maths as required (see below).

On completion of the first year of the course, you will achieve a BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Creative Media Production. Students who complete the second year will achieve the full BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production.

NB – It is recommended that students purchase a 1TB (or larger) portable hard drive prior to starting on the course. This will be used to store and transport footage shot for assignments throughout the duration of the course.

A UAL L2 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology is a one year work-related course. You learn by completing practical projects that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands, as well as completing some theory-based units. This course is designed to provide you with an introduction to both the creative and technical aspects of creative media production and to develop the required skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to further education and employment within the creative industries.

If you achieve an overall Merit on the course, this is equivalent to four GCSEs at Grade C which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to progress to either the L3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology or the A Level programme.

This course is for you if you are:

  • keen to develop both your practical and theoretical skills;
