Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2018/19) and are subject to change next year.

For students under 19

Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.

For students aged 19 or over

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.

International Students

Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.


About this course

Course units may include:

  • Working safely in engineering (Aeronautical)

  • Developing skills in making engineering components using hand tools (Aeronautical)

  • Developing skills in using a bench/pedestal drilling machine

  • Developing skills in electronic assembly.

  • Starting Work in Engineering

  • Working in a Team

  • Interpreting and Using Engineering Information

  • Engineering Marking Out (Aeronautical)

  • Developing Skills in Planning and Making a Machined Product (Aeronautical)
Entry Requirements

You will need an entry level 3 Engineering qualification with the following:

  • 2 GCSE at grade A*- G.

  • F/S maths and English

  • You will be required to attend a College interview and complete an assessment test.

  • A recent reference.
Assessment Method

The assessments for this qualification have a practical focus and combine various assessment styles/methodologies in order to suit the subject and levels of units contained within it.

Study Methods

Each unit has specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria. To pass an internally assessed unit, learners must meet all the assessment criteria.

These assessments will take place in specialised teaching areas which maximise your personal and subject development. You will create a portfolio of evidence based on your learning journey which will bring together your assessed work and include photograph evidence record. This will then be internally and externally assessed.

You will also have weekly tutorial and study skills sessions together with Work Experience.
