Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.

Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

About this course

This Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Event Management is for learners who work in, or want to work within, the area of event venues, events organisation or events exhibitions. It gives learners the opportunity to:

  • develop knowledge related to the events industry

  • planning events, health and safety, setup and breakdown

  • managing the running of events

  • evaluation and reporting and working relationships

  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification.

Supervisory skills will play a large role in this course as you will be required to complete assignments that demonstrate your team leadership.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade A* - C (including Maths & English); or Functional or Key Skills awards at Level 2; or BTEC Level 2 Diploma (minimum Merit grade achieved). Successful completion of internal assessment is also required.

International students need to have IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (min 5.0 in Reading and Writing). Good attendance and punctuality on previous courses either at the college or at a previous school or college.

Assessment Method

Assessment is an integral part of the overall learning process and our student centred approach aims to promote and enhance creativity, analytical thinking, research skills and effective communication skills. You will be assessed through project work, written assignments, in class tests, presentations and observations.

Progression Opportunities

From this course you could progress onto a Foundation or BA degree course at university. Alternatively, you may wish to study a Higher National Diploma in Business or Hospitality at the college or at a university. If you wish to go into employment, this course is a good basis from which to apply for an internship, Level 3 apprenticeship or entry job at a large company.
