Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.
Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.
If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.
International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting is a potential stepping stone for students to take them into employment, further education or training. It may be suited to students studying part time alongside employment or to those already working in finance. This qualification will also suit those looking to gain the skills required to move into a career in finance as it provides a clear pathway towards a successful career in accounting and finance. On completion, students can progress to take the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting. The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. It comprises six mandatory units:

Management Accounting: Costing
Ethics for Accountants
- Spreadsheets for Accounting.
To start this programme, you will need to have completed any of the following qualifications:
AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting,
AAT Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business or
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
All of the units within this qualification are mandatory. Four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments. This qualification also includes an assessment that students sit towards the end of the qualification, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.
Learners are entitled to 1 free re-sit for the whole level and will have to pay for all re-sits after that. Re-sits are £50 for each re-sit (this is to cover the AAT exam fee and our administration costs).
The accountancy skills developed through this qualification will enable a student to seek employment in the following areas:
an accounts assistant;
an accounts payable and expenses supervisor;
an accounts payable clerk;
an assistant accountant;
an audit trainee;
a corporate recovery analyst;
a credit controller;
- a finance assistant.
Successful completion of this qualification can lead to study Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting or to higher education.
You will study online and will be supported remotely by experienced tutors. In addition, there will be one day workshops each month which will be used to give an overview of a particular unit and also provide face to face support to the candidates who may require the overviews and face to face support. The workshops will run in dedicated classrooms and computer rooms. You could start your studies of the Advanced Diploma qualification at anytime during the academic year.
