Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2018/19) and are subject to change next year.

For students under 19

Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.

For students aged 19 or over

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.

International Students

Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.


About this course

If you are looking to establish yourself firmly within the world of health and fitness, our industry recognised qualification in Personal Training is for you. Delivered by industry specialists, this qualification will give you the knowledge and skills you need to work with individual and groups of clients in a personal training setting.

On this programme you will cover the following units:

  • Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health;
  • Programming personal training with clients;
  • Delivering personal training sessions;
  • Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme.
Entry Requirements

All applicants must hold a recognised Level 2 fitness qualification and have experience of working as a level 2 instructor.

This course also requires candidates to have good communication skills and a good level of physical fitness to cope with the practical demands of the course. Candidates will be required to successfully pass an interview and assessment which will cover key level 2 knowledge and skills.

Assessment Method

This course will be internally assessed via coursework, multiple choice examinations, a portfolio of evidence and practical demonstration and assessment.

Progression Opportunities

On completion of this course you will be able to progress directly into work as a Personal Trainer within a health and fitness organisation or on a self-employed basis. You will be able to enter the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 3.

Study Methods

This is a part-time programme which will be delivered on one full day per week for 18 weeks. During these sessions you will learn via a range of theory and practical lessons which will be delivered in our fully equipped classrooms, exercise studio and large on-site fitness centre. You will be required to undertake additional independent study throughout the course in order to complete various elements of your portfolio.
