Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2018/19) and are subject to change next year.
For students under 19
Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.
For students aged 19 or over
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.
Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.
The Pearson BTEC Entry Level Award (Entry 3) in Sport and Active Leisure has been developed to give learners the opportunity to:
- Engage in learning which is relevant to you and will provide opportunities to develop a range of sporting skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life
- Achieve a nationally recognised Entry vocationally related qualification
- Progress to employment in sport and active leisure
- Progress to related general and/or vocational qualifications.
At West London College this learning programme has been developed to allow learners to study English and/or Maths to enable learners to improve in these subject areas.
During your studies you will complete 2 sports related units, these are:
- Taking Part in Sport
- Taking Part in Exercise and Fitness Activities
You will attend college for a minimum of 1 day per week and will also be studying English and Math if you do not have grades at C/4 or above.
The college also offers a range of facilities such as:
- A Learning Resource Centre
- English & Maths support
- Student Union -Student Services
You do not require qualifications to undertake this course as you will be considered based on your aptitude and ability to complete the course following an assessment and interview.
You will produce a portfolio of coursework, to evidence your time on the course. You will also undertake practicals for which you will received feedback from your tutor(s).
You can progress onto the Level 1 Award or Certificate in Sport.
The college has a fully equipped gym, in which you will complete your practical assessment. Whilst studying at West London College you will work in groups, complete a portfolio, participate in class discussions and have the opportunity to undertake enrichment activities.
