Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current academic year (2018/19) and are subject to change next year.

For students under 19

Our courses & apprenticeships are usually free if you are 18 or under on the 31st of August 2019. Some courses have additional fees for things like materials and travel, which you will need to pay at the start of your course. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support for these costs.

For students aged 19 or over

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees. Some courses may be free, depending on your circumstances. Certain Level 3 & 4 courses require you to pay the fee in full or take out an Advanced Learning Loan to pay for your course. Please see our guide to fees for more information.

International Students

Students from outside the EU/EEA need to pay the full international fee for their course. Please note, West London College does not offer Tier 4 Visa Sponsorship for students to study in the United Kingdom.

 


About this course

Course Information The Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage has been designed to develop your practical skills in how to provide the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of body massage. This could be for friends and family or for paying clients.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in providing body massage treatments to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to provide your own services for clients.

What it consists of: As well as the practical skills to enable you to complete effective massage, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, and client care and communication. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical applications of anatomy and physiology.

You will do many practise treatments on fellow students before completing at least four assessed treatments on new clients. You will complete a portfolio of evidence to show your achievements.

There are two external exams which will test your knowledge of health and safety, client care, massage theory and anatomy & physiology.

Where it can lead: This qualification may lead directly into employment in the beauty, complementary therapy or sports and leisure industries as a massage therapist or self-employment as a massage therapist. This qualification really complements the following qualifications L2 Gym instructor , L3 Personal Training ( providing you have L2 Gym instructor ) L3 sports massage.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualification needed but you will need to undertake and pass an assessment in English ( reading & writing ) to show that you will be able to complete the required coursework.

Portfolio of evidence, Practical demonstrations and two external exams
