Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.

Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

About this course

This course will help you develop key employability skills for working in the Sport and Active Leisure industries. It has been designed for those who want to develop a broader understanding of the sports sector, including exploring sports events and an in depth look at sports health and fitness topics.

The college has facilities for training and fitness which you will use. Students are also able to join one of our sports academies in boxing, football or basketball.

The college also offers access to the following facilities:

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however you will need to be able to complete the course assignments.

Assessment Method

The course is completed using a variety of assessment methods. You will submit written assignments, undertake discussion use video evidence and provide presentations.

Progression Opportunities

Successful completion of the course can lead to study on the following programmes:

  • Chelsea FC BTEC Sport Certificate
  • Level 2 Diploma in Sport
  • NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Activity Leadership
Study Methods

You will be in college for three days per week. You can spend additional time if you join one of our sporting academies. You will study in the classroom but will also spend time undertaking physical fitness activities. You will participate in discussions and go on visits that are related to your sports course. You will have tutorials and regular reviews with your personal tutor to check on your progression. If needed you will also complete studies in English and mathematics as part of your course. Part of your studies will consist of a period of work experience.
