Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.
Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.
If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.
If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.
International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

This level 1 course will introduce you to the travel and tourism industry. You will cover a wide range of subjects such as:
- Customer Service,
- Airline services,
- How to plan a trip for customers,
- Preparing for and working within the travel and tourism industry,
- Worldwide travel destinations,
- UK destinations,
- Working as part of a team,
- Location geography,
- Using ICT in the workplace and much more.
As an optional added value you can also study junior cabin crew which will will provide a great introduction to the role of cabin crew.
You will need Entry level 3 Literacy and Numeracy and the ability to use a computer well, as well as a good reference. All applicants will be assessed for literacy and numeracy and will be invited to an interview.
You will be assessed through:
- Written assignments
- Role plays
- Practical assessments
The aim of the course is to prepare you not only for further study within this subject but also to help develop your employability skills so you could apply for work within the industry.
If you wish to continue your studies you can progress onto the L2 AIRTAC course (Airline, travel agency and Check In course). However, for this course you will need to have at least level 1 in English. You can also progress on to L2 Aviation, Travel and Tourism, P/T Cabin Crew course.
You could apply for jobs with airports, airlines, travel agents, tourist information centres, visitor attractions and hotels.
Practical role plays, portfolio of work, learn in our mock up cabin and through teamwork activities. You will also have an opportunity to learn on field trips e.g. 4 day visit to Devon, England (cost approx £150). You will need to purchase the compulsory course atlas at the start of the course, at an approximate cost of £30.
