Fee Information

Fees indicated are based on the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change next year.

Our further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are usually free if you are 16-18 years old. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as course materials and travel.

If you are aged 19 or over you may be required to pay fees.

If you are enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and are over 19 years of age the fees may be higher and you will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan, please see the guide to fees for more information.

International students will be required to pay the full International course fee.

About this course

This L2 NCFE qualification is designed for learners interested in aviation operations. It provides learners with skills in health, safety, security and communications required to work within an aviation environment. These qualifications will allow you to prove your skills working in an airport - whether at the departure gate or in the terminal. You'll build on your communications and operational skills and show you have the underlying knowledge needed for your particular role

Entry Requirements

Recent retail customer service in desirable.
A good understanding of English at minimum Level 1 and good numeracy skills are essential. All applicants will be required to attend an interview and sit an entry assessment test

Assessment Method

Assessment will be through practical activities and a portfolio of work. All units must be passed to gain the certificate.

Progression Opportunities

Following the successful completion of the course you could enrol onto the L2 Airline, check-in and travel agency course , L2 Cabin Crew Course or Cabin Crew Licence Course. This qualification can help you progress in a wide range of airport roles including manning a check-in desk, working with aircraft ramps, or co-ordinating ground operations for an airport.

Study Methods

You will cover things like:

  • Airport baggage handler
  • Passenger check-in
  • Load planning
  • Passenger services supervising.

The qualification will be assessed by practical performance and portfolio of evidence. You will also be assessed in our mock up check in room.
