Our 2017-18 year has kicked off with a bang at West London College with our biggest and best freshers’ fair events yet!
Held at each of our four colleges this week, Fresher’s Fair saw an amazing range of local volunteer groups, businesses, employers, clubs and societies come together
Freshers’ Fairs are a traditional event at institutions up and down the country, and are a fun way to welcome new students and introduce them to clubs, societies and local services.
This year’s fair was headlined by Creams Cafe and London by Cycle who both offered great interactive activities. Our own student services team also hired a mechanical bull which proved incredibly popular with staff and students alike!
Numerous amazing organisations including Why Not Find Out, National Citizenship Service, the Octavia Foundation, Middlesex FA and Students Take Action for Refugees offered information, giveaways, competitions and fun activities for all in attendance. We were also very pleased to host the British Transport Police who did a great job of engaging with our students at Southall and Ealing.
Ellie Rudd, Our Student Support Centre Manager was at the forefront of the fair both in organising and on the day. She said:
"There has been such great feedback from both students, staff and exhibitors about how much of a buzz there was at our Freshers Fairs this year! We had an aim for this term to ensure that students had an engaging and interactive welcome, with Freshers closing their induction weeks and we have definitely achieved that. What a great start to the new academic year!"
