Google Education's Fuel the Future Roadshow has come to Hammersmith & Fulham College bringing together staff from a wide range of local schools to hear how to maximise technology in education.

WLC has been a real success story for using technology to enhance learning, with over 1.5 documents shared over Google Drive and around half our students using Google Classroom through organic growth. Our win at the TES FE Awards in February was built on using Google Classroom  and it was great for the College to be able to show off our expertise to other schools.

The day saw Google set up their amazing mobile roadshow, featuring tables, benches, chromebooks, breakout areas and presentation areas. Visitors were treated to talks from Google's own experts before taking part in breakout sessions to discuss how they could advance the use of technology at their own schools.

The history of going google at WLC

The keynote presentation at the event was given by Wendy Peskett who talked the audience through our project to go Google and explained how it coincided with an improvement of 18.2% in Maths and English and 12% in other subjects. She also noted Ofsted's recognition of part technology plays at WLC as part of their decision to grade the College 'Good' in their latest inspection.

"Learners & staff are making effective use of apps & their learning system. Used well for sharing, checking learning, submitting assignments & receiving timely feedback from teachers. Learners appreciate the good communication & being able find information via their smartphones." -Ofsted
