Lights, camera, action! Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College’s Hair and Beauty students showed off their amazing hairstyles and impressive makeup skills on the catwalk at Hammersmith and Fulham College on Tuesday 14 June.
This showcase event was held both as a competition and an end of year celebration for friends, family and guests including some Norwegian delegates from Premium haircare brand, Wella. Students demonstrated hair styling, media makeup techniques on their models who strutted confidently along the catwalk to the delight of the audience.
Students offered up a wide range of styles, from glamour to horror, fantasy and fashion – there was even a tribute to pop superstar, Prince.
Phil Hunt, winner of last year’s BBC2 competition, ‘Hair’ is a student at the College, and took part in the Showcase, landing first prize for his year.
Madalena Chilabe took home first prize for make-up.
Four external judges from the Hair and Beauty industry decided on the winners, congratulating all entrants on their efforts.
Peter Heath, from Awarding body, Pearson said: “This is outstanding work, particularly for the level 2 students – they are leading the way in industry, promoting high levels of skill and talent at the College.”
