Hanieh Kani, who studied Travel and Tourism Level 2, is just about to start a new and exciting position with British Airways at London Heathrow Airport.
Hanieh studied both Level 1 and Level 2, during her time at West London College, giving her the chance to learn about the UK travel industry, its key sectors and employers, and to develop practical skills. She thinks that enhancing her customer skills was one of the most beneficial things for her career.
“I really learnt a lot and had fantastic support throughout the course from all the teachers. We learnt how to work with all the key systems including bookings and check-in. I’ve had an amazing time at the college, studying what I really like and receiving great support from the teachers. Everyone at the college was very helpful and supportive.”
She went to work at Heathrow Airport, where she started to work in EAT at Terminal 2 and then moved on to a job with Travelex at Terminal 5. However, she has now secured her dream position within the ground crew of British Airways, as a Customer Service Representative. She will be helping customers of BA with check-in procedures, reclaims and other issues. Hanieh expects to begin her training in a couple of weeks and is really excited about this new opportunity.
“It is working with people, where I can use my customer skills and it is something I really want to do. The college helped me find this position and also received help with my CV and job application.”
Hanieh strongly recommends the college for anyone who wants to work in the travel and tourism industry, not only because of the quality of the courses but because of the career support she received.
“I would absolutely recommend studying at West London College to anyone. It is a college full of teachers and staff who want you to succeed and help you to succeed. I thoroughly enjoyed my course and I am very grateful to my teachers.”
