Following the continued success of our Cabin Crew graduation ceremonies, the Travel & Tourism Department have held their first ever department-wide graduation at Hammersmith & Fulham College.
The glitzy graduation event was the culmination of a great year for students and teachers alike and allowed this great group of young people to really celebrate all they've achieved this academic year.
We were also honoured to have three staff members from British Airways on hand to hand out wings and certificates to our excited graduates. Earlier this year British Airways hosted our cabin crew graduation ceremony, and many of our graduates aspire to become cabin crew members in the coming months.
Graduate spotlight: Malih Mneimne
Three years ago, Malih Mneimne joined the Travel & Tourism department not knowing where his studies would take him. Three years on, he will start work experience with the possibility of an apprenticeship with British Airways in September.
“The College has really helped me grow as a person” Malih says. “The same teachers taught me through Level 2 and 3, passing on their knowledge and past experience. They really taught me key skills that will help me excel in the tourism world”.
As well as getting their graduation certificates, some of our most dedicated students were rewarded for exceptional attendance, punctuality and commitment to their courses.
Edison Samuel, Interim Curriculum Manager for Travel & Tourism was understandably extremely proud of his graduates. He said:
“The graduation was a brilliant attribute to both the students and the College, and really demonstrates the ability of the College to get people into employment or to university.
“The graduating class are all fantastic young people who are dedicated, hardworking and showed real resilience. We are very proud of them.”
