T Level - Business

ABOUT THIS COURSE

T Level Technical Qualification in Business Management and Administration is a composite technical study programme, aimed at preparing young people for work, higher level apprenticeships or higher education (HE).

It comprises of the following components:

  • an approved technical qualification (TQ)
  • an occupational specialist component (Management and Administration)
  • a substantial industry placement with an external employer
  • employability, enrichment and pastoral (EEP) elements.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need: 

  • a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and maths at grade 4 or above
  • a Level 2 vocational qualification or equivalent in a related subject, eg business administration, with English and maths at Level 2
ASSESSMENT METHOD

Two externally set exams covering knowledge from the Management and Administration core (component 300).

One employer-set project covering knowledge and skills from the Management and Administration core (component 300).

The employer-set project will consist of a well-defined, real industry-style brief.

One occupational specialism, which will feature a considerable practical element and are composed of a series of holistic practical tasks relating to the specialism at hand.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

On successful completion of this qualification you may wish to:

  • study further, e.g. higher education - UCAS points available for university entry
  • apply for an apprenticeship (progression onto lower level apprenticeships may also be possible in some circumstances, if the content is sufficiently different).
  • seek employment in the Management and Administration sector.
STUDY METHODS

The course will be delivered through classroom based teaching and real work environments with both direct instruction in more formal learning environments and taking part in investigative projects, and e-learning.

A substantial industry placement of 360 hours with an external employer will form an important part of the delivery and includes an external employer project. There will also be tutorial, enrichment and pastoral support elements.

FEES

If you will be aged 16 to 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your studies and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course will be free.
