Employers & Stakeholders

Employers & Stakeholders

Employers are the backbone of our communities, creating jobs and career opportunities that support the whole region. At West London College, we have a number of ways to help employers access and nurture talented individuals from across the region, in turn, allowing you to focus on growing your business.

We offer a range of courses that can help you recruit new staff or upskill your existing employees, from apprenticeships to distance learning to bespoke training. In addition, we work with employers to help develop our curriculum, to ensure our courses are helping train the workforce of the future, and to offer work experience placements.

Meeting Stakeholder Needs

West London College has a strong focus on meeting skills needs both locally, sub-regionally, and regionally across London and beyond. We engage with a variety of stakeholders, including community groups, civic bodies, education providers and employers. Find out more about our strategies for meeting stakeholder needs here.

Apprenticeships help you to grow and enhance your business by equipping your workforce with new skills and qualifications. They provide tailored training, targeted to the needs of your workplace, helping you to respond to the ever-changing and challenging landscape.

An apprenticeship combines practical skills alongside a knowledge-based qualification, which is gained through developing a portfolio that matches the needs of your business. With the apprenticeship levy and government incentives, now is the time to hire an apprentice or use apprenticeships to upskill your existing workforce. For more information, please get in touch using the form below.

Work Experience Placements

Work experience placements are essential to help our students develop the skills needed for employment. We work with a wide range of employers across London to offer placements from as little as one week, up to 60 days. In return, you’ll get to help shape employees of the future and enhance your business with additional temporary support.

If you can offer a work experience placement, our dedicated team will help guide you through the process – please get in touch using the form below.

Bespoke Training

We offer a range of bespoke professional development training courses designed to target your specific business needs. Our short courses, coaching, and other dedicated solutions can help engage, excite and motivate your staff, and increase productivity.

We cater our training to your exact business needs, helping you to reduce recruitment spend and the other effects of high staff turnover. Some of our recent bespoke training has included:

  • English language classes for speakers of other languages
  • Seminars and events
  • Accredited sector-specific courses and qualifications (eg food hygiene)
  • One-to-one coaching and mentoring training
  • Corporate leadership and management training
  • Team building training

From new recruits to seasoned staff and line managers, our bespoke training allows you to offer continual professional development to your staff, helping you to adapt to evolving industry needs and employee expectations. For more information, please get in touch using the form below.

Employer Boards and Curriculum Planning

West London College is dedicated to meeting skills needs locally, sub-regionally, and across London and beyond. We engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including community groups, civic bodies, education providers and employers, to help shape our decision-making in areas such as curriculum design and planning.

We have aligned our provision to key Skills Improvement Plans developed by the devolved authority, sub-regional partnership and local authorities. If you’d like to join one of our employer boards, please get in touch using the form below.
