Welcome to West London College! Starting college can be both exciting and challenging so we’ve done our best to make it easy for you. This page contains information and resources which can help to support you before you start your course. You can also find the date and time when you should arrive for your first day at college.
Term starts on Thursday 7 September 2023 – for most of our courses, induction will take place on Thursday or Friday. You can find details of your first day for many courses at the bottom of the page.
Our Student Portal is your ultimate resource whilst you’re studying at West London College. You’ll find back issues of the Student Newsletter, details of our 2022-23 enrichment programme, vacancies from local employers, careers and employability advice, learning resource centre details and much, much more.
There are a range of bursaries and schemes to help support you financially whilst studying at college. These depend on your age, the course you are studying and your personal circumstances.
You can find out more about financial support and make an application online here.
If you are aged 16-18 and enrolled on a Study Programme you will be required to complete a mandatory one-week work experience placement to help you gain the skills needed to work in your chosen industry. We encourage all students to start sourcing a placement as soon as possible – your dedicated Work Experience Advisor will support you throughout your course.
*Health and Social Care and Sport Coaching learners will need to apply for a DBS through the Work Experience team during induction week
Everyone has a responsibility to keep children, young people and vulnerable adults safe. If you have a safeguarding concern about yourself or another student, no matter what kind of help is needed, get in touch with the safeguarding team and we will support you however we can.
Find out more about Safeguarding here.
To find your first day, you will need your course code – this can be found on the Learning Agreement you signed at enrolment (you would have needed this to get your ID card).
