West London College CEO and Principal Awarded OBE

West London College is delighted to announce that our CEO and Principal, Karen Redhead, has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to education.

Karen is an accomplished leader with a successful track record of building organisational transformation in Further Education (FE) and is recognised as one of the sector’s leading experts on apprenticeships.

Karen brought her exemplary leadership and strategic management experience to West London College in 2018, leading the organisation through a challenging time with high energy, determination and integrity putting the best interests of the college, staff and students, first.

Karen is proud to be a ‘product of FE’ and has 28 years of experience in education. She has occupied senior roles in two national funding agencies and four regional colleges and is currently undertaking a PhD on educational policy reform.  

Karen said: “I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to be appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire. It’s a privilege to help shape the future of young people and I will endeavour to continue making a positive contribution to FE.”
