Finance Expert Peter Komolafe Visits WLC to Talk Money Management

Peter Komolafe shared his remarkable life journey and insights on personal finance with business students at West London College on 7 November 2023. Peter’s inspiring talk linked entrepreneurship, the world of finance, and how it works – with personal money management guidance. The event, designed to empower students to make their personal finances work harder and smarter, also provided important real-world context and information to also aid their studies.

Peter Komolafe, widely recognised for his TV appearances, YouTube channel ‘Conversation of Money’, and his book ‘The Money Basics’, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of personal finance.

Peter Komolafe’s own incredible journey shows that success is achievable even in challenging circumstances. He was fostered as a child and once faced homelessness before establishing a successful career in Canary Wharf, making his story highly motivational for many.

Business Level 3 student, Michael Varraich said: “Peter was very helpful. We all learned a lot, we are very thankful that he came out of his way to educate the upcoming generation so we don’t fall into bad habits and keep prospering.”

Michael’s classmate Bachar Bireqdar said: “He answered almost all the gaps in my mind about financial issues and how to improve them so we can reach our goals in life. Also, he was really generous – three students who were active and had a passion for business were able to win a copy of his book, which he signed for us.”

Christina Morris, one of our teaching and learning managers, organised the event and said: “Peter’s talk exemplifies the college’s commitment to not only celebrating students’ achievements but also to promote their personal development, including financial literacy. This will help us to create an inspirational learning environment that our learners deserve.”
