Students from Uniformed Public Services demonstrated the true spirit of community and teamwork during an afternoon dedicated to supporting Ealing Foodbank at St. Andrew’s Church in Ealing. As part of the Citizenship & Diversity unit of their Level 3 Extended Diploma, the students participated in a project focused on the theme of “being a good citizen,” combining practical action with key skills development.

Students were tasked with collecting essential foodbank items, and working collaboratively to problem-solve and manage resources. Once successfully collected, the produce was donated to Ealing Foobank at St. Andrew’s Church.
Tutor Darren Morgan, said: “This is the second year we’ve carried out this project with the local church. The students fully engaged in the project; despite the cold and rainy weather, we had 100% attendance, with some students even bringing in their own donations. It was an amazing skills-building activity that showcased strong interpersonal skills such as leadership and teamwork, as well as helping others in our community.”
The activity not only benefited Ealing Foodbank, which provides vital support to individuals and families in need, but also gave students a hands-on opportunity to explore the values of citizenship, empathy, and collaboration.
